Anglicans on Radio

Recently, there have been some interesting radio interviews with some important figures of the Church.

The ABC tries (and fails) to convert John Humphrys (who didn't want to be converted anyway).

Presiding Bishop Katherine tries (and fails) to prove she's not a Unitarian, on "Here and Now."

Bishop Iker on the same program tries (and succeeds) to prove that he's catholic.

Concerning the first one, I like how theologian Greg Bahsen demonstrates that one must presuppose the existence of God to even raise the question of suffering and evil in the world.

Exactly! The ABC didn't really go into the real issues of the "problem of evil" and free will. I guess he was trying to keep the discussion casual so he just emphasized (vaguely) God's invitation of love. But Humphry’s circular argument is very typical (Camus felt the same). ‘Help me believe in God. But I can't believe in an all-powerful loving God because of the evil and injustice in the world, nor do I think its necessary.’ Its interesting that the discussion was not very Christian. The salvation found in Christ was again just vaguely mentioned. So, I wonder if the Muslim or the Jew will be able to reconcile faith and the issue of evil and free will any better.
